Synopsis

Set in Glasgow, Scotland, The Purifiers is an attempt to ape Hong Kong martial arts movies from a British perspective. Director Richard Jobson trains his cameras on a bunch of outsiders known as The Purifiers. Together, the team of three men and three women form an uncanny alliance as they battle it out against rival gangs in a Blade Runner-esque future Britain. Reminiscent of Walter Hill’s seminal ’70s gangland tale The Warriors, Jobson’s film draws some notable performances from his gang of young actors, with Dominic Monaghan among them.
