Dominic Monaghan’s pre-summer blockbuster “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” is in theaters across the land, and the Hollywood Hills resident just might be in the audience.

“I’m OK watching myself on-screen,” he said. “I won’t watch a movie over and over, but I’m not one of those actors who just hates it. And with ‘Origins,’ I enjoyed the whole experience. I play a young man who can manipulate electricity, which comes in handy.”

You might already know Monaghan from TV’s “Lost,” and he played Merry in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy (he still has his latex Hobbit feet).

A lot of fantasy, but his weekends are the real deal.

We’ve already been told not to expect a shirtless Hugh on Sunday, but we refuse to give up all hope. So when we chatted with Jackman’s Wolverine costar Dominic Monaghan we pressed why exactly H.J. doesn’t just walk around naked all the time.

“Because he’s humble,” the cute, former Lostie dished. “I think he knows that he can make girls squirm, but he just is quite humble.”

That’s not the end of it.

There would be scenes that he would just have to be! Just [Hugh] in his underwear. You can’t really help but check him out.

Lost stars Naveen Andrews and Dominic Monaghan are bemoaning the lack of screen time they have in the third season of the desert island show. The British actors earn a reported $78,000 a week playing Sayid Jarrah (Andrews) and Charlie Pace (Monaghan), but admit they spend a lot of time sitting around with nothing to do. Andrews says, “Even though I like getting paid for doing nothing, it is nice occasionally to work.” Monaghan adds, “As one person works more, work is being taken away from another. You have to make your peace with that. Executive producer Carlton Cuse explains, “The actors are frustrated. They’re all really good at what they do and it’s difficult when they don’t get a chance to do it.”
