‘Lost’ Stars Get Massive Salary Increase
The original cast members of award-winning hit TV show Lost have been offered a huge pay increase in exchange for extending their contracts by another year. Touchstone Television has promised the likes of Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly and DOMINIC MONAGHAN between $20,000 and $40,000 more per episode if they sign for a third series, pushing some salaries into the six figure bracket. Fox, who plays lead character Dr. Jack Sheppard, has reportedly earned a minimum $250,000 bonus on top of the salary hike. The raise puts Lost cast members in line with the stars of Desperate Housewives. Lost, which sees a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a tropical island, has one of the largest casts and production costs of any US drama series.

Dominic Monaghan Finds His Realities
DOMINIC MONAGHAN plays heroin-addicted rock star Charlie on ABC’s hit series Lost. And, cozied up on the back patio of a Melrose coffee house, the actor reveals his own rock-star side.
While on leave from the Oahu set, Monaghan, 29, is here to talk about tonight’s hallucination-filled episode (9 ET/PT), which flashes back to Charlie’s past and hurls him into an uncertain future. But he also talks about love (with co-star Evangeline Lilly), drugs (Charlie’s habits and his own) and rock ‘n’ roll (well, mostly John Lennon).
His interest in the late Beatle goes deeper than the typical fan’s. Many nights, he dreams of Lennon as his “God figure,” and most days he surfs in the ocean, which he considers his personal Strawberry Fields, “a place of tranquility where I go to forget everything.” His fascination with Lennon started on his fourth birthday, the day Lennon was murdered. Tattooed on his arm is the Lennon lyric: “Living is easy with eyes closed.”

Dominic & Evangeline’s Hush-Hush Love Life
Some Lost castaways are obsessed with numbers ? particularly the six cursed numerals that frequently pop up on the hit series. DOMINIC MONAGHAN, however, is all about the alphabet.
“Dom is obsessed with Scrabble,” says castmate Jorge Garcia, who plays Hurley. “He plays it all the time ? even on his cell phone at work.”
Admits Monaghan: “People will say things, and I’ll Scrabble what they say in my head. I’ll think of triple word scores all the time.”
He’s leaving Lost viewers equally spellbound. As washed-up rocker and reformed heroin addict Charlie, Monaghan has proved that his well-received turn as hobbit Merry in the blockbuster Lord of the Rings trilogy was no fantastical fluke.

Monaghan: ‘Speedy Hawaiians Have Got No Chance’
DOMINIC MONAGHAN insists Hawaii’s police are making it impossible for him and his LOST co-stars to race home after shooting the hit TV show.
The actor is one of seven Lost stars who have been pulled over for speeding or drink driving in the past 18 months, and though he refuses to comment about those who drive under the influence, he’s begging traffic cops to give the speeders a break.
He says, “I think two people got arrested (for drink driving), and I’m not going to talk about other people’s stuff. (The rest of us) get speeding tickets.
“The reason we get speeding tickets is there are only three roads in Hawaii, so if there’s a police officer sat on any one of those roads they’re going to get us.
“(But) we’re not that badly behaved, we do good work.” And the British actor has even suggested that his girlfriend and co-star Evangeline Lilly may have been an eighth member of the cast to get pulled over.
Appearing on this morning’s (11JAN06) ELLEN talk show in American, the cheeky actor told host ELLEN DeGENERES, “Here’s the thing about Evangeline Lilly and I’m going to get in trouble about this but, on her driver’s license it say’s Nicole Lilly – because that’s her name… She can fly under the radar. (She’s) a liar and a thief.”
