The best Lost party yet

The stars of Seven’s worldwide hit Lost declared Melbourne’s welcoming party better than Berlin or Paris.

The classically beautiful Evangeline Lilly and Lord of the Rings star Dominic Monaghan have spent the past few weeks circling the globe promoting the show and attending parties. The exclusive event on Wednesday night was held in St Kilda’s Prince Hotel with a Hawaiian beachy theme.

Channel 7 heads David Leckie and Ryan Stokes attended, as well as a host of the network’s stars, including a radiant-looking Sonia Kruger, Molly Meldrum, Beverley O’Connor and cast members of Blue Heelers and Last Man Standing.

The night began with quite a comedy routine from Monaghan, who dropped the f-bomb during his speech and then answered an embarrassed photographer’s wayward mobile phone.

Dancing with the Stars co-host Kruger had eavesdroppers chuckling when she called Lilly by her character’s name, Kate, about five times in half an hour.

Lilly, who is rumoured to be dating Monaghan but will not confirm or deny the claim, didn’t seem offended and just laughed off Kruger’s blunder.

Monaghan also dropped a little morsel of info for mad-keen Lost viewers. While he declined to say too much about the first series finale, which screens here next month, he did say the hatch contained “hope”.

The pair flew out of Melbourne yesterday and will head to Hawaii this month to start filming the second series.
